After reading the inspiring story of the Veuve Clicquot Ponsadin, the female entrepreneur behind the famous Champgane House, I’m talking about taking risks.
We all want to win people over at one point or another. Whether it’s your 5 year old who you want to get dressed, or your spouse that you want to convince to have what you want for dinner. Or, maybe it’s a client that you’re trying to win over to work with you or go through your process your way. Here are my steps for winning people over.
Let’s talk about taking criticism. As business owners or as humans, we work through new situations and get new feedback from clients, friends, colleagues, your dog, whoever. It doesn’t always feel good. You come home from work, your dog pooped on the rug, that’s feedback, you were gone too long. I want you to be able to take it like a boss, learn from it, be better.
Let’s talk Sleep! I recently finished the book, “Why we Sleep” by Matthew Walker and I am more sleep obsessed than ever. I’m also hella nervous because 50% of people have trouble with sleep after having a concussion. After learning so much about how important it is, I’m desperate to make sure I’m doing everything I can to get a good night’s sleep! I’m also kind of pissed off. Learn why..
Finally getting back to writing since I broke my brain by getting a concussion and does it ever feel good to not feel so sick, dizzy and exhausted after everything I do! Still not 100% but I am back to running, slowly, and it’s just great to get out and play again. So, today’s blog is talking about if it might be broke, it’s okay to fix it.
Having confidence can feel awkward, you don’t want to come across too showy and you don’t want anyone to find out your a fraud, but don’t we all feel like frauds at some point? It’s just our insecurities telling us we aren’t good enough, we don’t know enough, we aren’t enough. And that’s BS! A couple examples of my experience with having confidence recently.
Naturally, I am always watching people’s selling styles in hopes to learn something new and see what isn’t working for them so I don’t make the same mistakes. I had two memorable meetings with sales people last week and unfortunately, they didn’t impress. SOOOO, I wanted to share what I felt were their pitfalls so that we can all learn from them.
As Entrepreneurs or just busy humans, we are making thousands of decisions every day or even hour. There are so many decisions to be made that some become habit or reactionary to the situation. Lately, as my own decisions have been piling up, I found myself not being care-ful or thoughtful about the decisions I was making, so thought I’d bring it to your attention so you know you’re not alone, and there are some ways out of it.
Keeping your head straight, goals top of mind and maintaining your daily meditation/manifest/envisioning sesh takes practice. You may have a routine now, or had one, or maybe it’s just an idea to implement these things, but I am telling you, it makes a HUGE difference. Read on to learn how I implement this into my day to day.
There is evidently lots to learn when starting or operating a business. You sell one cupcake at a farmer’s market and now you’re going into business. You keep selling and delivering cupcakes, but is there a method to your madness? Could someone else step into replace you at a moments notice? What happens when you need to hire someone else to sell cupcakes with you? Will they understand what to do? Cupcakes aside, my tips for getting a little process into your biz so you can grow, step back or make time for you.
When is the right time to quit your job and become the Boss FULL TIME?! Starting your own biz or taking the leap from side hustle to full time Boss is intimidating. It’s like asking yourself when is the right time to have kids? Is there really a right time? Here are some clear signs that helped me leap into full time entrepreneurship.
Obviously, your health is most essential to do anything, but protecting your TIME is SOOOO important!! It’s so easy to get sucked into meeting after meeting, picking the kids up from school, groceries from the three different stores, car wash, gym, call Mom, call Gramma, make dinner, prep to do it all over again. You get the idea. So how do you delete the dead weight to get back more time?
With a life commitment towards constant improvement, the German words "Sein Besser Als Gestern" sum up the goal of everything I do. It means "Be Better than Yesterday." Knowing this, it makes sense that I've read a ton of self-help books from business to spiritual to plain ol' money making tips. From all of them, I've found a consistent messaging ringing throughout. Read on to learn what the message is.
